MAYFAIR

Our proposal limits the need to form partitions between spaces, and where we have a new fabric meeting the Historic, we propose that these elements are scribed around any ornamental mouldings to create an ornate and clear distinction where required; introducing an element of surprise and pleasure.

The new elements are to be clearly read as a new layer, as an insertion into the existing property and are detailed in a manner to provide a contemporary appearance, yet sympathetic to the fabric and character of the property.

By introducing a palette of luxurious, but restrained materials, we can clearly differentiate between the new works and the existing fabric; however, we retain a sense of homogeneity by using a raw lacquered steel cladding finish to the mezzanine and staircase, which adds a richness and depth to the proposal whilst complimenting the existing fabric.
